The
film "Dada's Dance" will hit screens across China in September,
director Zhang Yuan said at a wine party on Thursday in Beijing.
The film is Zhang's first since he was arrested on drug charges in January, 2008.
"Dada's
Dance" has already been screened at various international film
festivals, including the 2008 Pusan International Film Festival and the
International Film Festival Rotterdam 2009.
The film is a
road-trip movie with the duo Dada and her friend Zhao Ye played by Li
Xiaofeng going to an unnamed town to search for Dada's birth mother.
Unlike Zhang's earlier films, "Dada's Dance" successfully passed a review by Chinese censors and emerged unedited and unchanged.
The film stars Li Xinyun as the titular Dada and was produced by Zhang's own Zhang Yuan Cultural Studios.
Zhang's films touches on his usual themes of contemporary love, disaffected youth, and existential malaise.
Zhang
said the protagonist Dada is a free spirit and the mixed-up, unwitting
temptress who is secretly worshipped by her young neighbor, Zhao Ye.
This
year also marks the 20th anniversary of Zhang's film career. Many of
his friends, including director Zhang Yibai, director and actress Yu
Feihong, musician Li Quan and supermodel Wang Haizhen attended the wine
party and talked about their collaboration with Zhang over the last two
decades.

A
star-studded television fundraiser on the Chinese mainland raised more
than 310 million yuan (about 45 million U.S. dollars) for victims of
Taiwan's deadliest typhoon in half a century.
The
more-than-four-hour fundraiser featured entertainment and sport stars
from across the Taiwan Strait, such as actress Zhou Xun, sport star Lin
Dan and singer Chyi Chin.
All the money raised at the fundraiser
would be donated to the typhoon-battered Taiwan, where Morakot, the
worst typhoon to hit Taiwan in nearly five decades, had claimed at
least 141 lives.
According to Yang Yi, spokesman with the State
Council Taiwan Affairs Office, relief funds and materials donated from
the Chinese mainland to Taiwan had already totaled 300 million yuan (44
million U.S. dollars) by Wednesday night.
The donations included 270 million yuan in relief funds and 30 million yuan of relief materials, Yang said Thursday.

TAIPEI
: Taiwanese supermodel Lin Chiling has become the "star" of a Japanese
pornographic disc after her image was used on the cover.
Inside, there's also a montage of topless pictures of Lin.
According
to chinanews.com, the disc entitled “China Enticement” was discovered
in the Chinese province of Guangxi. The cover featured Lin in a
half-bared shoulder shot posing sexily with legs propped on a table
while sitting beside an antique fan.
This is not the first
picture scandal to plague Lin. Due to her popularity, her photos have
often been used for other illicit purposes.
Five years ago, nude pictures of her surfaced online, and the year before saw her image being used as a massage girl in Britain.
At
a movie premiere in Taiwan on Wednesday, Lin refused to speak on the
latest incident. Her manager expressed that they did not want to
promote the disc by commenting on it and will seek the law to take
those responsible to task.

of female fans through the September issue of <Singles>.
Lee
Seung-gi’s sunshine boy persona has always been well loved by the noona
fans. Recently, he flew to Japan for a three-day photo shoot, and in
this particular one, he presents a whole new side of himself –
minimalistic and gentlemanly.
According to the staff there, Lee
Seung-gi had on a charming smile, even though he was decked out in
autumn-style clothes under temperatures of up to 30 degree Celsius. He
was also so cooperative and friendly, that the staff there even felt
bad about putting him through the intense heat.

also impressed everyone with his Japanese speaking ability. When asked
about it, he only modestly said: “I like watching Japanese dramas, so I

Love comes after work for famous Taiwanese actress Joe Chen (better
known as Chen Qiao En). She broke up with her Australian boyfriend,
Michael, in the beginning of this year but quickly got back together
with him. However, things did not work out between them and she asked
for another breakup two months ago. Although he was unwilling to end
their relationship, he finally relented after Joe issued him an
ultimatum and ordered him to leave the house.
According to
sources, the relationship between Joe and Michael has long gone stale.
Already in his thirties, the Ozzie wanted to settle down and start
planning for a family, even citing an example of Australian actress
Nicole Kidman achieving worldwide recognition after becoming a mother.
Joe disagreed with him and was determined in carving a niche in the
movie industry before anything else. Their differing opinions and

made the untimely announcement of her separation from Michael. The
entire series of events were too coincidental and sparked off rumours
of a possible relationship brewing between them. Joe’s manager retorted
and explained that Joe merely admired Roy’s acting professionalism and
refused to further comment on the topic.
Both Joe and Roy are
onscreen partners and are currently acting against one another in their
latest drama series, Easy Fortune Happy Life.

on 18 August, it’s alleged that Andy Lau had brought along his daughter
and jet off to Malaysia from Hong Kong to attend the 3-days funeral,
but till today Andy’s whereabouts is still a mystery, the funeral will
take place at 10am tomorrow, whether Andy would be present is closely
watched.
In the secret relationship between Jackie Chan and Lin
Fengjiao, she quit showbiz to give birth to Jaycee Chan, kept in the
dark for 15 years until the funeral of Jackie’s god-father Leonard Ho

HONG
KONG actor Andy Lau and his Malaysian girlfriend Carol Chu rushed back
to Malaysia from Hong Kong following the death of Chu's father, all
Chinese dailies reported yesterday.
Chu's father, 73, collapsed on Monday afternoon and was rushed to a private medical centre in Subang.
He underwent a five-hour surgery to remove a blood clot but died at 9pm on Tuesday.
Sin
Chew Daily said the status of Lau's relationship with Chu would be
revealed during the funeral where it would be known whether he might
take on the role of son-in-law for the ceremonies.
Lau has
always remained mum on the status of his relationship with Chu and has
never even admitted his relationship with her in public.
However, their 24-year relationship is not a secret in the entertainment circle.
One
version is that they registered their marriage in Canada back in 1992
and they have a daughter. On top of that, a former minister had also
disclosed that they had registered their marriage in Malaysia.
Focus at the funeral will now be centred on whether they are a married couple or merely lovers.
China
Press reported that the Chu family was tight-lipped on the funeral
details. The main gate of the house in Bukit Jalil remained closed all
the time.
Media personnel stationed at the area were first told to leave and then later issued a warning.
The wake is being held at the house and the funeral is scheduled for tomorrow.
